Nestled in the mountains of San Baltazar Chichicapam, located approximately 2 hours from Oaxaca City, Mexico. Known for its Zapotec ROOTS, the town is recognized worldwide for producing some of the highest quality Mezcal.

KAWÍ 951, is a fusion of Culture & Art. Combining traditional methods used by the Zapotecs more than 2,500 years ago, in collaboration with local artists who design unique labels for each distill, giving each bottle a unique spirit!

KAWĺ, is a native word used by the "RARÁMURI" culture from The Northern Mountains of Chihuahua, where the family of founder, Jose "Pepe" Lozano originate from. Signifying: "Ray of Light", "Mountain", "Planet", "Earth", ... We focus more on ROOTS.

Pepe's family settled in the Magical town of Parral Chihuahua, his great grandfather at the age of just 13 was wounded in the shoulder, fighting alongside Mexican hero and Revolutionary General, Francisco "Pancho". Villa, known as the General of the North.

951, Is the area code of Oaxaca City, who adopted Mexican Revolutionary Emiliano Zapata, known as the General of the South as its own. KAWĺ951, signifies UNITY... Pacho Villa & Emiliano Zapata, who are iconic Mexican Revolutionaries... The unity of North & South!
